AGRO - Family Agricultural Production (OPG)

An orchard was built on 1 hectare, and Maraska cherry trees (Prunus cerasus var. Marasca, 280 trees) and late-flowering almond trees (Prunus amygdalus 80 trees) were planted as basic crops. It is these crops that represent the backbone of the development of agricultural production of this economy. In addition to basic crops, other indigenous varieties of cherries, figs, pomegranates, quinces, plums, walnuts, grapes, apples and apricots have been planted.
In order to fulfill the main imperative, healthy production, careful selection of varieties, grown in optimal agroecological conditions, preserved the perfect indigenous pomological appearance of fruits, ensured optimal yield and durability of fruits.
Due to the ecological method of cultivation and protection, the quantities of fruits and products are limited. Therefore, the emphasis of production is placed on excellence in quality, and the introduction of functional products and maximum usability of fruits.
The crop is harvested by hand, inspected and cleaned so that healthy fruits without leaves can be sold or processed. Processing begins within 12 hours of harvest. Therefore, the obtained products are of high quality, excellent organoleptic and chemical characteristics. The main products of OPG Mandalina are fruit syrups, jams, cherry wine and cherry liqueur (cherry brandy), and the production of functional products is in preparation
Marasca cherry (Prunus cerasus var. Marasca) is an autochthonous Croatian cherry variety whose cultivation in Dalmatia has a tradition of more than 500 years. Maraska cherry, in addition to grapes, perhaps best of all foods symbolizes the entire region in which it grows and is grown as a local, indigenous variety of cherry. Since 2013, the Dalmatian Maraska, ie Maraška, has been marked as the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Croatia.
Maraschino cherry is rich in carbohydrates and proteins and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, magnesium and selenium. It also contains water-soluble vitamins (vitamin C and B vitamins) and fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, E and K). In addition, marasca contains a number of essential biologically active ingredients with beneficial effects on health.
Almonds are a very nutritious, energy-rich, and prized and sought-after fruit on the market. It contains vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates, quality fats, minerals and aromatic substances. Our variety has medium lush and branched trees. They bloom late, ripen medium early (September-early October), high energy values ​​and special pleasant aromas. Almonds are widely used in the food industry, mostly in the confectionery, chocolate, cake, ice cream, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetics.
